DOS based geomagnetic acquisition system

MAGREC-1 is a data collection platform based on 386SX or VortexSX/VortexDX processor based single board computer and ELGI's MAGADAM1 geomagnetic data acquisition software. MAGREC-1 is specially designed for geomagnetic data recording purposes.

The software used in MAGREC-1 is MAGADAM1 written in Eotvos Lorand Geophysical Instute of Hungary (ELGI). The instrument is supplied with a pre-installed DOS operating system and all necessary programs for the data acquisition.

PDA based geomagnetic acquisition system

Magrec-3 is a PDA based acquisition system with integrated touchscreen, SD-card reader and bluethooth. It have built-in PalmAcq module with GPS timing and two output serial ports (RS232, RS485). The operation system is PocketPC 2003 and it's equipped with acquisition system with graphical user interface.

LINUX based geomagnetic acquisition system

Magrec-4 is a small size computer with Linux operating system and MAGLIN data acquisition software. Magrec-4 is primarily designed for geomagnetic observatory data acquisition. However, it can be used for many other data acquisition, data monitoring purposes. Magrec-4 supports long-term, unattended data acquisition from one or more instruments. It provides different ways for local and remote system check and data file access. Linux skills are not required to use the main functions of Magrec-4. Most important networking and data acquistion settings can be modified from easy graphical configuration windows.

Supported acquisition units and instruments:

  • ADAM-4000 analog or digital input modules or compatible modules (for example ICP DAS).
    More modules can be chained in an RS485 network.
    RS485 line can be surge protected. Fiber optic communication is also available.
    Typical sampling frequency is 1 Hz, but certain modules support faster rates.
  • obsDaq 24 bit A/D converters, up to 100 Hz sampling rate
  • Proton magnetometers (including the DIDD instrument) with text output on RS232 port
  • LEMI-025 magnetometer
  • Many serial text output instruments (requires specific configuration settings)
